About BearCreek Shelties...
Little did we know what was ahead for us as we strolled through Brookside Park in Pasadena, California, in early 1994.  There were all these people about, with beautiful dogs. It was a Sheltie Specialty show, and that is where we met Mike & Pam of IvanLee Shelties.  They just happened to have a wonderful little 12 week old Blue Merle male Sheltie puppy along with them so the owner of the sire could help Pam decide whether she wanted to place him or grow him out as a show prospect.  We were blessed, indeed, as the decision to let him go to a companion home had just been made!   Once that baby was in our arms (Cherie's, actually) we didn't let him go.  We named him Cody, and the love affair of Shelties began!

It was a natural progression to eventually become involved in the conformation venue of Shelties.   We have become members of the two local Shetland Sheepdog Clubs, and have had the enjoyment of getting to know many wonderful breeders in this sport.  While Pam and Mike did move away from Southern California to Oregon, we have kept in close contact.  We co-own several Shelties together, and have many common ideas when it comes to our view of what a Sheltie should be.

We chose the name "BearCreek" for our Shelties because there is a creek (by the same name) that runs  through our lower property acreage.

BearCreek Shelties is active in both the conformation and performance ring.  We are co-owners on two major pointed Shelties we hope to see finish their AKC Championships in the near future.  A few of our Shelties are active in agility, as well as some are in Pet Therapy work.  We truly love a well rounded Sheltie!

We hope you enjoy a little peek at our Shelties.  Don't forget to sign the Guestbook, or just drop us an email!
